The ‘FabLab (Fabrication Laboratory)’ concept constitutes one of the most interesting phenomena on the technological innovation front, which can have important applications in training.
It is basically a small workshop that offers personalized digital manufacturing services, equipped with materials, technologies, and skills, where everyone can freely play, invent, and create technological products, adapted to local or personal needs, generally considered to be the exclusive prerogative of the production of mass.
It was developed in the early 2000s starting from an idea of Prof. Neil Gershenfeld of MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Boston and quickly spread throughout the world.
